Here’s what Vipin Jain has to say about the company and the latest trends happening in the app industry.

1. Why are enterprises adapting to mobility?

I think it really boils down to three significant things- first, because enterprises don’t want any hindrance in their work due of lack of mobility. They really don’t want to lose any lead, any client because of this single barrier of non-mobility of devices. Recently, I read a report where I found that most organizations in the UK do not currently provide remote access and thus, they are largely compromising on their work.

Secondly, enterprises have realized that remote collaboration and a growing choice of devices, file-sharing applications are making them more profitable and productive. Access to files anywhere anytime strengthens the trust among employees and clients towards the organization and top management.

The last point brings down to providing a flexible working environment to the workforce such that they can bring their own devices to the workplace and can take them back home. This, in turn, enables a more consistent and open working environment, which doubles the efficiency of employees as they are more satisfied, they can be on their own when dealing with clients and business partners, and they know that the company trusts their actions.

It’s just that the enterprise needs to build more secure and reliable apps, which is why they come to us or other expert enterprise app development companies that are capable of delivering seamless experiences and secure work-ready apps.

2. Why do app developers prefer iOS despite Android’s market leadership?

I don’t completely agree with this statement because here, at Konstant, we have equally good clients and projects for both Android and iPhone apps. One thing that I believe and I’ve learned in all these years of mobile app development that if you have a great hardware and feature-packed, modern apps to complement them, the platform really doesn’t’ matter.

There’s just one thing that deters developers when building Android apps- App piracy. Any day, iOS is the ultimate king in exclusivity and maintaining privacy. But this problem still persists in Android and affect the app makers. Also, Apple’s best stuff is iOS-only while Google services, though largely superior, are all easily available on iOS.

But then, there are many ways Android outshines iOS including Super AMOLED displays (Samsung S8 Edge), more battery life, mode developer freedom compared to Apple which is more controlled.

3. What is the average budget of the mobile apps you develop?

Along with basic Android and iOS app development, we are offering a range of app development services spanning through industries and in various latest technologies like Internet of Things, wearable, beacon, chatbot, cloud computing, enterprise mobility, React Native and Native Script for cross-platform apps development.

On an average, a mobile app may cost you between $15k-$40k; this wide range is a result of the differing requirements, hardware and software tools, APIs that vary with the app type and business needs of each client.

4. Which software and tools do you mostly use while developing apps?

For iOS, we use XCode and Simulator. For Android, we use Android Studio and Eclipse.

The design tool for both iOS and Android apps that we use is Zeplin.

We request our clients to provide access to Android developer and Apple developer accounts. Also, for iOS apps, we need UDID from clients to provide them with the build.

We use tools like GitHub, Bitbucketfor code push and repository; branch.io for deep linking, Firebase, Parse for push notification.

5. Do you think Augmented Reality apps are the future? Why?

Certainly, there’s no denial to it. Augmented Reality is progressing in this century like never before and it will continue to be in our mobile phones in the form of shopping apps, health apps, décor apps, and will also phenomenally translate the industries like medical assistance, corporate training, eLearning, real estate.

The best of digital experiences can be enjoyed in the physical world. The vast acceptance of Pokémon Go recently is the epitome of AR to take on the world- decoying people of all ages.

The reasons are evident- Who wouldn’t like to fight airship battles in their living room? Who wouldn’t want to take a 36-degree view of the home they are buying with those AR glasses on? When the apps will let you preview a fully four-dimensional furniture sample you’re planning to place in your new apartment, won’t you be interested?

The answers to all these questions give the answer to why AR apps will be the future. BMW enthusiasts will be able to visualize their reality with BMW i3 or i5 just through their smartphone. The apps will also allow potential adopters to interact with the dials on dashboard, change the color schemes of the interiors and everything else. These AR-enabled apps will give a real-time feel to the customers/potential buyers and let them try things before they actually buy them, filming it like they were actually there inside the car, or in that dress or in that kitchen.
